A stepped climb to Foding Peak, the high point of the sacred island of Putuo Shan off Zhejiang, dedicated to the bodhisattva Guanyin. The stone stairway rises through temple gardens to a monastery overlooking the sea. A peaceful pilgrim ascent on a holy Buddhist island.
