Volcan Purace

Descripción del sendero

A demanding high altitude ascent of an active 4650 meter volcano in Purace National Park, starting from the Pilimbala sector near Coconuco. The route climbs through paramo of frailejones onto volcanic scree slopes, finishing at a crater rim that often steams with sulfur vents. Weather changes fast and an early start is essential.
