Khan el-Khalili is the great medieval bazaar of Cairo, a maze of lanes crammed with spice, copper, jewellery and craft stalls. This short walk threads the covered alleys past the Al-Hussein mosque and historic coffee houses. It is one of the oldest and most atmospheric markets in the world.
