Mount Sinai Steps of Repentance

The Steps of Repentance climb roughly 3,750 rough-hewn stone steps straight up the flank of Mount Sinai from Saint Catherine's Monastery. It is the steeper and more traditional pilgrim route to the summit where Moses is said to have received the commandments. Most hikers time the ascent for sunrise over the surrounding granite peaks.
