Shiratani Unsuikyo Yakushima

A magical moss-covered ravine on Yakushima whose ancient cedar forest inspired the film Princess Mononoke. Wooden walkways and granite steps climb beside a clear river through some of the oldest woodland in Japan. The popular loop passes giant yakusugi cedars and reaches the Taiko-iwa viewpoint.
