A lakeside walk through the Lake Utonai bird sanctuary near Tomakomai in Hokkaido, an internationally important wetland on a migration route. The path and boardwalks follow the reed-fringed shore rich in swans and waterfowl. It is flat, quiet and full of birdlife.
