Shosenkyo Gorge

Regarded as one of the most beautiful gorges in Japan, Shosenkyo cuts through the granite hills north of Kofu in Yamanashi. The riverside path climbs past sculpted cliffs, giant boulders and the towering Kakuenbo rock to the Sengataki waterfall. The maples turn brilliant red in autumn.
