A forest walk to Bogensperk Castle, the well preserved manor where the polymath Janez Vajkard Valvasor wrote his great chronicle of Carniola. The path climbs gently through woods to the hilltop castle with its courtyards and views. A rewarding outing combining nature and Slovenian history.
