A climb from the Mitchell Lake Trailhead at Brainard Lake on the Beaver Creek and Mount Audubon trails, above the trees and up the broad east ridge to the rocky summit of Mount Audubon (4,026 m) in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. About 12.4 km out and back with some 810 m of climbing. Most of the route is above treeline, so start early to be off the top before afternoon thunderstorms.
