A short climb from the old town of Senj to the Nehaj fortress on a bare hill above the sea. The mighty square tower was built by the Uskoks, the fierce pirates who defied both Venice and the Ottomans from this stronghold. Wide views open over the town, the Velebit channel and the island of Krk.
