Takachiho Gorge

A dramatic volcanic gorge in Miyazaki where sheer columns of basalt rise from an emerald river. The riverside path leads to a viewpoint over the Manai Falls, which plunge straight into the canyon. It is one of Kyushu's most photographed scenic spots.
