Muroji Mountain Temple Walk

A walk up to Muroji, a mountain temple in eastern Nara set among cedars beside a clear river, long open to women when other holy mountains were not. The path climbs stone stairways past a small graceful pagoda to halls on the wooded slope. It is atmospheric and green.
