Karnak to Luxor Avenue of Sphinxes

The Avenue of Sphinxes is an ancient processional way lined with hundreds of ram-headed and human-headed sphinxes linking the temples of Karnak and Luxor. Reopened after decades of excavation, it can now be walked end to end. The route traces one of the great ceremonial roads of ancient Thebes.
