Trail Description

The Petrified Forest protectorate on the eastern edge of Cairo preserves fossilised tree trunks scattered across the desert hills. This short walk explores the geological reserve near the Katameya hills away from the noise of the city. It is an easy outing into a surprising pocket of ancient natural history.
