Trail Description

A climb through the stone town of Akre, built up a steep mountain amphitheatre north of Erbil. Stepped lanes rise between old houses to ridgetops famous for the Newroz fire festival, when thousands carry torches up the slopes. Grand views over the surrounding hills reward the ascent.
