Trail Description
A walk up to Mar Mattai, one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world, perched high on Mount Alfaf east of Mosul. The road climbs to fortress like walls with a commanding view over the plains. A serene refuge of the Syriac Orthodox church founded in the fourth century.
