Trail Description
A walk across the volcanic heart of Terceira between the peaks of Serra de Santa Barbara and the black lava domes of the Misterios Negros. The trail crosses cedar woodland, peat bog and moss-covered rock formed by an eighteenth century eruption. A wild, often misty landscape unlike anywhere else in the Azores.
