Trail Description

A steep climb to the rocky chapels and viewpoints of Sao Salvador do Mundo above a great gorge of the Douro near Sao Joao da Pesqueira. From the granite pinnacles the river winds far below past the Valeira dam. A dramatic pilgrimage site in the heart of the wine country.
