Trail Description

A climb to Palanok Castle, a dramatic fortress crowning an isolated volcanic hill above the Transcarpathian town of Mukachevo. Ramps and terraces spiral up through three levels of walls to the upper courtyard with wide plains views. One of the best preserved castles in the country.
