Trail Description

A historic hike above Altadena to the ruins of a mountain resort destroyed long ago. The Sam Merrill Trail switchbacks up the front range with fine views over the Los Angeles basin. At the top lie the concrete foundations and old machinery of the Echo Mountain incline railway.
