A walk up the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu near Fukuoka, the shrine of the scholar-god of learning. The lively street of plum-cake shops leads to the shrine, its arched bridges and the moss temple of Komyozenji nearby. It is flat and famous for its plum blossom.
