Mount Tateyama (Oyama)

A climb to one of Japan's three holy mountains, starting from Murodo high on the Tateyama Alpine Route. The rocky path rises past alpine ponds to the Oyama summit shrine, with huge views over the Northern Alps. Short but steep, and often snow lined well into summer.
