Shimogamo Tadasu Forest Walk

A walk through the Tadasu no Mori, the ancient sacred forest surrounding Shimogamo shrine in northern Kyoto. The gravel path runs beneath old broadleaf trees along a clear stream to the vermilion shrine. It is flat, cool and a rare patch of primeval woodland in the city.
