Pennine Way: Dufton to Alston

This high Pennine Way stage climbs over Cross Fell, the highest point in the Pennines, past the Great Dun Fell radar station. The route crosses wild fell country and old lead-mining ground before descending to the market town of Alston. Remote and exposed high moorland.
