Community Guidelines
FriendHike is built on trust, respect, and a shared love for the outdoors. These guidelines help us maintain a safe, welcoming community where every hiker feels at home.
- 1. Be Respectful
Treat every member with kindness and courtesy. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, and personal attacks have no place in our community. We celebrate diversity and welcome hikers of all backgrounds, experience levels, and abilities.
- 2. Keep It Real
Use real photos and provide honest descriptions of trails, conditions, and your experience. Do not create fake profiles, post spam, or misrepresent yourself. Authenticity builds the trust our community depends on.
- 3. Hike Safely
Provide accurate information about trail difficulty, distance, and current conditions. Never encourage reckless or dangerous behavior. If conditions change, update your posts so others can make informed decisions.
- 4. Respect Nature
Follow Leave No Trace principles: pack out all trash, stay on marked trails, and respect wildlife. Follow local trail rules and regulations. Help us protect the natural spaces we all enjoy.
- 5. Organize Responsibly
If you create a hike, show up and lead it. Communicate any changes or cancellations to participants promptly. Ensure your group size and plans are appropriate for the trail and conditions.
- 6. Report Issues
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it using the flag button on any profile, hike, or post. Our moderation team reviews every report and takes appropriate action.
Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent ban from FriendHike. We take community safety seriously and appreciate your help in keeping FriendHike a positive space for everyone.
