A 5.3 km climb from Islip Saddle on the Angeles Crest Highway, about 3.5 km on the Pacific Crest Trail and then the Mount Islip Trail to the 2,518 m summit, with about 490 m of gain. The top looks over the San Gabriel Mountains to the desert and the Los Angeles basin. Snow can cover the trail and close the highway in winter.
