Hooiberg Trail

Trail description

Hooiberg, Dutch for haystack, is a 165 m hill in the Santa Cruz district of central Aruba whose cone stands out in the otherwise flat landscape. From the parking lot at its base, a concrete staircase of close to 600 steps, first built in 1951, climbs to the summit, which carries radio and television masts and gives panoramic views across the island. Wild goats, parakeets and lizards can be seen along the way.
