Trail description

The walk starts at the landing of the Pasarela San Alfonso footbridge at the park's north access and climbs the summit path to the top of Cerro Chena, which carries communication towers. The hill covers 1,188 ha between San Bernardo and Calera de Tango and also holds the Pucará de Chena, an Inca site declared a historic monument in 1977; after the 1973 coup it was used as a place of detention and torture. The official park website says the park is closed to the general public while construction works continue, with access only on guided visits. The walk is about 2.8 km one way, with some 350 m of climbing.
