The Mosque of Amr ibn al-As in old Fustat is the first mosque ever built in Egypt and Africa, founded in the seventh century. This short walk visits the vast prayer hall and the surrounding ruins of the original Islamic capital. It marks the birthplace of Muslim Cairo.
