Trail Description
The City of the Dead is a vast Mamluk-era cemetery on the eastern edge of Cairo where tombs, mausoleums and homes stand side by side. This walk passes grand domed mausoleums of sultans and emirs beneath the Mokattam cliffs. It is a fascinating and little-visited layer of the city's history.
