Trail Description

Wadi El Hitan is a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Fayoum desert holding fossil skeletons of ancient whales millions of years old. The marked open-air trail loops among wind-carved rock formations and fossils left where a prehistoric sea once lay. It is an easy, flat interpretive walk through one of the world's great fossil sites.
