Trail description

The Mount Qua Qua trail leaves the visitor centre of Grand Etang National Park and Forest Reserve, passes above the Grand Etang crater lake and follows a narrow ridge through cloud forest to the summit at about 715 m. The crater lake lies in an extinct volcano at about 530 m and covers some 36 acres. The ridge path is rocky and often muddy, and the round trip takes about 2.5 hours. Mona monkeys live in the reserve in troops, and a small park entry fee is paid at the visitor centre.
