Trail Description

A walk over the ruins of Khorsabad, the short lived Assyrian capital of Dur Sharrukin built by Sargon the Second northeast of Mosul. Mounds mark the palace once flanked by colossal winged bulls. A quiet site of imperial ambition on the edge of the plains.
