Trail Description

A loop around the perfectly preserved twelve-pointed star fortress of Almeida near the Spanish border. Grass ramparts, moats and gateways enclose the old garrison town in a masterpiece of military engineering. An easy flat walk along the walls with wide views over the frontier country.
