Signed trail PR-CC 81 from the Plazuela de Pizarro in Aldeanueva de la Vera, by the eight-spout fountain where Charles V is said to have drunk on his way to Yuste, up an old cobbled lane through orchards and oak and chestnut woods, fording the Garganta del Moro, to a meadow with a ruined stone hut and an old chestnut tree. From the wall by the Garganta de la Mora there is a view of the Chorrera de la Mora waterfall in its narrow gorge. The La Vera tourist site gives 10 km return, about 4 hours, low difficulty.
