Trail Description
The opening stage of the Cleveland Way leaves the pretty market town of Helmsley and passes the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey nearby. The route climbs gently to the escarpment edge at Sutton Bank, famously described as the finest view in England. Easy walking with a spectacular finish.
