Trail description
Loop over the summits of Welch and Dickey mountains in the White Mountain National Forest, from the Welch-Dickey trailhead on Orris Road in Waterville Valley. The 4.4-mile loop climbs through shady hardwood forest onto long, open granite ledges with wide views of Waterville Valley and the southern White Mountains, unusual bare rock for such low peaks. The ledges are slippery when wet and can be icy in autumn, winter and spring, when traction devices are recommended. A day-use fee is charged at the trailhead.
