Avis Dam Loop

A loop on the paths around Avis Dam, on the eastern edge of Windhoek. The dam was built in 1933 and first filled in April 1934, but it only passed three quarters full again in 2007; at least 187 kinds of birds have been seen in the area. There is little shade, so walk early or late in the day and carry water.
