Trail description
Mount Tarn is a small mountain on the Brunswick Peninsula about 70 km south of Punta Arenas, close to Cape Froward at the southern end of continental Chile. This trail leaves the end of Ruta 9 and climbs through forest and wetland past two viewpoints to the bare summit ridge. Charles Darwin made the same ascent in 1834 with the Beagle expedition and found the first ammonites known in South America here. From the top you can see the Strait of Magellan, Dawson Island, Tierra del Fuego and the Darwin Range.
