Chatzi Summit from Mesochora

Trail description

The most popular route up Mount Chatzi (2,038 m) in the southern Pindus, from the village of Mesochora in Trikala prefecture. The path starts at the edge of the village, and the first hour can be slow through dense vegetation. Near the top the trail splits, left to the summit and right to the neighbouring peak of Vromeri. Bears, wolves and eagles live in this remote area above the Acheloos (Aspropotamos) valley.
