Mount Smolikas from Agia Paraskevi via Drakolimni

Trail Description

The classic ascent of Smolikas, at 2,637 m the second highest mountain in Greece, from the village of Agia Paraskevi at about 1,030 m. The well used and well marked path climbs through forest to the heart-shaped Drakolimni lake at around 2,180 m, about an hour below the top. From the summit there are wide views over the northern Pindos and the relief of Mount Tymfi. It is a long, hard day with a big climb, but there are several water sources on the way.
