Trail description

A short 0.7 km climb of about 60 m onto the Dyrhólaey headland, past a viewpoint over the sea arch to the lighthouse at the top. Dyrhólaey, near Vík, was once an island of volcanic origin that erupted about 100,000 years ago; it rises 120 m and its lighthouse was built in 1927. The view takes in Mýrdalsjökull to the north and the black Reynisdrangar sea stacks to the east.
