Mount Ungaran

Trail description

The most popular route on Ungaran, a dormant volcano near Semarang, starts at the Mawar basecamp at Umbul Sidomukti (about 1,257 m) with a registration counter, then climbs through forest past Pos 1 to Pos 4 and up a steep, partly open slope to the eastern summit, Puncak Ungaran (about 2,031 m), crowned with monuments. A day hike of about 5 hours return; there is little shade on the upper part.
