Trail description

A steep 4.2 km climb of about 1,090 m from Pianezze near Cibiana di Cadore to the summit of Monte Rite, 2,181 m, between Cortina and Cadore. A First World War fort on the top has been turned into the Messner Mountain Museum Dolomites, the 'museum in the clouds', with glass-roofed galleries on the history of the Dolomites and their exploration. The summit gives a 360 degree view of the Dolomites; the museum opens only in summer.
