Mount Asakusa

Trail description

Asakusadake, 1,586 m, is an old volcano on the border of Uonuma in Niigata and Tadami in Fukushima, one of the three Tadami mountains. This route climbs from the north to the summit, which carries a first-order survey point. Avalanches have carved the Fukushima side into steep snow-eroded slopes, while the north side keeps the cone shape. It lies in the Echigo Sanzan-Tadami Quasi-National Park.
