Trail description

Azumayama, 1,239 m, rises on the border of Shobara in Hiroshima and Okuizumo in Shimane, in the Hiba-Dogo-Taishaku Quasi-National Park. This short route climbs from the site of the former Azumayama Lodge to the grassy summit, a round trip of about 1 hour 10 minutes. Legend says Izanagi stood on the top and called out to his wife Izanami, buried on nearby Mount Hiba, which gave the mountain its name, my wife. A ridge trail continues to Hibayama and Eboshiyama.
