Trail description

Babamedake, 1,037 m, stands at the western end of the Taihei mountains on the border of Gojome and Akita city. This route climbs from the south on the most used approach to the gentle summit, where a stone shrine to Aizome, protector of horses, stands in a hollow. The mountain and Taiheizan form a horseshoe around the Nibetsu national forest.
