Trail description
Takami, 1,249 m, stands on the border of Nara and Mie at the northern end of the Daiko mountains and is called the Matterhorn of Kansai for its cone. This route climbs from the Takasumi no Sato parking area past named rocks such as Fuefuki-iwa to the summit, where the Takasumi Shrine and a viewing shelter stand. The beech forest on top is famous for rime ice in winter. Legend says Emperor Jimmu looked out over the land from the Kunimi rock here.
