Trail Description

Zelen Breg (2,166 m) is the highest peak of Kozhuf, the mountain on the Greek border. The route climbs from the village of Smrdliva Voda up forest tracks and paths to the high alpine pastures of the central ridge. It is a long, hard day: about 15 km one way with some 1,400 m of ascent and around 5.5 hours up, rated 9 out of 10 by the local guide. From the summit you look south over sharp ridges toward the Thessaloniki plain.
