Trail description

A steep climb from Loen in Nordfjord on the T-marked Skålastien to the Skålatårnet tower and Skålabu hut at 1843 m, with about 1800 m of ascent and close to 1000 Sherpa-built stone steps. The path follows the Fossdøla river, passes Skålavatnet and crosses a flat snowfield (Flatebreen) before the paved final ridge. UT.no gives about 8 hours return in July to September; there is a parking fee at Tjugen.
